The Naggar School
The Naggar School of Photography, Media, New Music, and Phototherapy was founded in 1987 in Jerusalem's Musrara neighborhood. An institution for higher learning in interdisciplinary art and personal development, it trains its students to artistic and professional activity in the fields of photography, new media, new music, and phototherapy, concurrent with social and communal commitment. School activities include a study unit, Special Photography, in which Arab and Jewish children from Jerusalem's special education program participate. Three art galleries operate on campus, and an annual international festival, Musrara Mix, has been organized by the school every May for more than a decade.
